Didn't really know where to go for some lunch in Cahors, Le Bergougnoux was a) close to where we were b) had good recent reviews and c) the menu looked promising. I think we were lucky to get a table as it filled up pretty quickly. Anyway, to the essentials: the food was delicious and there was plenty on the plates, and the service was friendly / welcoming. We had the €26 menu which was good value for money.

My partner and I both had the 17.50 euro 3-course lunch special. It was a fantastic deal. We tried the vegetable soup starter and the raw trout starter, and the Toulouse sausage and fish stew specials of the day. I loved everything we ate, especially the homemade garlic aoli that came with my fish. The service was great, and I appreciate that they didn't rush us to order or finish our food.

This cute restaurant is a surprise!! We cannot find other good restaurant who is open on a Sunday noon. That's how we discover it! The environment is an old house with wooden stuff everywhere. The food was great! Well home cooked. I like their vegetables, the quantity and flavor are really balanced! Their dessert is a must try! It's so tasting already when you see show they are presented in the entrance bar. I'd really like to know the recipes for those desserts which are not so sweet but well flavored. Don't miss it when you are in Cahors!

This restaurant is worth finding. Great cooking. I had the asparagus soup. Unlike many, actually tasted of asparagus. Followed by chicken fricassee. Tasty, well integrated sauce. Philippe is charming, even if I couldn’t understand a word he said. His warmth and enthusiasm for food and his guests came through. Denise seemed a bit cold, but I think that’s more a matter of style than anything else. She was efficient and helpful. This is an experience I’d happily have paid a lot more for. Don’t be put off by some of the one-star reviews. They don’t match my experience at all.

What a lucky find for us! The meals were delicious, and be sure to save room for desserts which came in ultra generous portions. We tried all of them. It was away from the regular tourist traffic and a genuine hidden gem.

Thank you so much to the fabulous cook and service! This is a true gem in Cahors. Set menu, all dishes were delicious. Our kids are picky but they loved it all, particularly the deserts, of course. They will remember this place for the rest of their lives, and so will we, of course. A huge thank you, we will definitely be back. I can recommend this place from my heart. A reservation is highly recommended as this place gets full very quickly. We arrived at 19:25 and there were already people waiting, so I was very happy we were lucky to book a table!
